Masharab Aziz is the latest addition to our research team here at Ortus Professional Search. Masharab joins us as a recent law graduate with a desire to work within the legal sector from a different angle. Office Manager, James Davis will be taking part in the Chicago marathon in October 2008 on behalf of the NSPCC. Managing Director, Colin White and James both completed the London Marathon in 2007, raising just under £8000 for the NSPCC thanks to donations from clients, friends and family. James plans to continue this good work by completing one of the major marathons each year. Colin plans never to run another marathon again and instead is bribing James with sponsorship to go without him.

To celebrate the launch of Ortus’ Birmingham city centre office, we held a launch party at Itihaas, the UK’s best Indian restaurant (according to the good people of the Cobra good curry guide) which saw the coming together of approximately 80 people from the professional services sector. Many introductions were made on the night and much fun was had by all, as well as much food and drink. Below are some pictures from the event. (Click an Image to view a larger version)

Having experienced significant growth in our client base and demand from existing clients, we felt there was a need to take on additional office space to accommodate growth that we will undertake during 2008.  This has also given us the opportunity to reconsider our location and we have secured new premises in central Birmingham meaning we are now in the professional services district and have much easier access to the vast majority of our clients and contacts, not to mention the national rail network.  This has also helped us reduce our carbon footprint because aside from choosing premises with energy saving functionality such as movement sensing lights, we have taken six cars off the road now that we all use public transport and Colin has resolved to be a cyclist before the end of April!
