Ortus was formed in April 2004 with the intention of developing a new executive search product specialising entirely in the legal market. Following many years working in a larger organisation with an established client base, a positive decision has been taken to examine very carefully each new relationship as it develops with Ortus. This approach is designed to minimise conflict situations and to make sure that when we agree to work together, both sides know that there is a rational long-term reason for doing so. Due to Ortus being a young firm in the search market, we are able to make unbiased decisions and advise on the feasibility of us working together.
We are totally honest with all persons regarding conflict situations even where we are obligated by client confidentiality. Every firm that has spoken with us has appreciated this, even the ones where we have turned down work because everyone can see that there is a need for honesty and trust for our business relationship to work both ways. As of April 2008, there are only two regions in the UK where we are unable to accept any further retained clients and we will continue to develop relationships everywhere, nonetheless.
This approach has worked tremendously well and is making sure that our future looks very bright by being aligned with clients who share similar business aims and values to Ortus.
